in verdant woods, i aimlessly did wander,

not lost, but in the trees, i found a bond,

connected to the heart of nature’s grandeur,

in leafy embrace, a path we forged beyond

in murmurs, wind, a silent sage so wise,

through forest’s hush, its ancient lessons rise

flame’s dance, a fervent teacher’s ardent light,

and mountains stand, in patience, endless might

in twilight’s clutch, we wander

as shape-shifting souls by midnight’s call 

our hidden selves, a haunting wonder

in ghastly shadows, where the dead enthrall
